Valid passport required by all nationals referred to in the chart above except:

(a) nationals of Canada and the USA with valid proof of identity and holding return/onward tickets (for stays of up to six months).



Note:

As of 23 January 2007 all persons, including US citizens, traveling by air between the USA and Canada, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda are required to present a valid passport or other approved document when entering or re-entering the USA. Similar requirements for those traveling by land or sea will be introduced as early as 1 January 2008.



Visas

2.nationals of Australia and Latvia who do require a visa, unless continuing their journey to next destination by the same aircraft without leaving the airport.

Types of Visa and Cost
Single-entry Tourist: £35; Business: £40; Student: £30. These prices are for those applying in the UK. Cost depends on nationality of the applicant and the place of application.

Working Days Required

Typically a visa takes 3-5 working days to process in Saint Lucia or in Saint Lucia Missions Overseas. Expedited Visas may be obtained, at an increased fee, within one day.



Warning

Most visits to St Lucia are trouble-free but you should be aware of the global risk of indiscriminate international terrorist attacks, which could be against civilian targets, including places frequented by foreigners.

 

Violent crime is a problem within local communities, and can sometimes affect tourists. Crimes include muggings, and thefts from hotels, yachts or holiday homes.

 

The hurricane season in St Lucia normally runs from June to November.

 

Dengue Fever is endemic to Latin America and the Caribbean and can occur throughout the year. There was a marked increase in the number of reported cases of dengue across the region in 2007, including 13 cases to date in St Lucia.
